The VHT Special 44 Tube Set consists of 4 x 12AX7 preamp tubes and 2 x 6L6 power tubes.
The Special 44’s preamp was designed to bring out the best in every effects pedal and multi-effects unit with enhanced clarity, detail, and controlled tube compression. The high-quality low-impedance buffered effects-loop can effortlessly drive the most difficult pedals or multi-effects units without signal loss or tone degradation.
The Treble, Middle and Bass controls are post effects loop, so multi-effects users can plug directly into the effect return and still have plenty of post-effects loop tone shaping flexibility, plus the ability to fine-tune the output stage characteristics with the Depth, Texture and Presence controls.
From clean to scream, the Special 44 excels at a wide range of tones with pickups ranging from the crispest single-coils to the thickest humbuckers.
It features a convenient built-in 9-volt DC pedal power supply, and an international mains voltage selector switch. For quick and easy bias adjustment, the Special 44 also has external bias test jacks and an easily accessible bias adjustment pot.
