The Sovtek 6H30p-EB tube is a fantastic tube for high-end audio. This unusual tube variant (sometimes called the 6H30, 6N30 or 6N30P) was first used in hifi audio by Balanced Audio Technologies.  They introduced it to the audiophile world in the 1990’s.  Now, many other audio designers/manufacturers such as Audio Research and Conrad Johnson, use this wonderful tube in their tube amplifiers and preamps as well.

Please note that this tube cannot be used in place of 6DJ8 or 6922 tubes in other pre-amps; it can only be used in equipment that is designed for it.

The Sovtek 6H30Pi is sometimes referred to as the “Supertube” especially by Balanced Audio Technology. The 6H30 tube has a plate resistance that is four times lower than the 6922’s. It also has higher transconductance – with the resulting gain being just slightly lower than that of the 6922. It cannot be used as a direct replacement for the 6922 tube but BAT has developed a proprietary circuit designed specifically for the 6H30P in order to unleash its true potential.
