5AR4Â (GZ34)
The Classic valve amp rectifier used in the early Marshall and many American made amplifiers. This valve features in the leisured JTM 45 amp and 1962 Bluesbreaker combo and is an essential part of the origin of classic tone for which there is no substitute. For amplifiers modified away from the GZ34 to accept solid-state rectification, a tech may be able to retro fit the GZ34 to retrieve the lost original sound  – The History of Marshall: The Illustrated Story of “the Sound of Rock”
