The EH 12AT7 preamp vacuum tube presents a clear, uncolored tonality with a very strong amount of signal gain. Musical details are very accurate with strong headroom dynamics. Internal construction provides mild microphonics resistance. The EH 12AT7 is a good choice for reverb driver, line stage, and phase inverter positions.

When should I use an Electro-Harmonix 12AT7?

The very dynamic and deep low end response of the long plate EH 12AT7 tube makes it an excellent choice in reverb driver and phase inverter stages. However, use in high gain preamp stages is not recommended due to potential microphonics.
