The Balanced Mullard CV4004 12AX7 Preamp Tube delivers a large sound stage with excellent detail. Factory selected for low noise and minimum microphonics.

The CV4004/12AX7 is a high gain, low noise valve with a short plate structure for reduced microphonics. The Mullard CV4004 is excellent for use in high gain Marshall pre-amplifier circuits where noise and microphonics can be a problem. These tubes are balanced.

What are balanced triodes?

The 12AX7 is a dual triode, meaning it is two tubes in one, with both sides amplifying the signal (in amps where both triodes are used). These balanced tested tubes have equal gain ratings on both triodes, which can help reduce noise and microphonics in the preamp section of amps
